JSI Tip 1918. You can't run anything from a CMD prompt?

When you try to run an executable or batch file from a CMD prompt, nothing happens, even when you type the full path name and extension?

This is symptomatic of a missing PATHEXT value name at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment

To resolve the problem, select the Environment key and Add Value name PATHEXT, as a string value (type REG_SZ). Use tip 1706 to set the data value.

You will need to shutdown and restart for the changes to become effective.
