The ITPro Today team is made up of a dedicated group of reporters, editors, analysts and IT industry professionals who work continuously to cover the industry’s ever-changing landscape. 

Michael Caton

Michael Caton has been involved with collaboration technology for over 15 years, either covering the technology as an analyst at Aberdeen Group and eWEEK or researching the market while working for vendors. As an analyst, he's also covered IT service management, middleware and data analytics. He has a strong interest in using data-driven analysis to make sound decisions. 

Terri Coles

Prior to joining Ziff Brothers, Scot was the editorial director for the Business Applications & Architecture group at TechTarget. Before that, he was the director of editorial operations at Ziff Davis Enterprise, While at Ziff Davis Media, he was a writer and editor at eWEEK.

Lisa Schmeiser

Lisa Schmeiser is content director at ITPro Today. Prior to ITPro Today, she worked at InfoWorld, where she most recently has been the newsletter editor and cultivator of InfoWorld’s social media outlets, and also reported, edited and blogged on a wide variety of tech topics over the years. Previously Schmeiser served as Senior Associate Editor of Macworld and Executive Editor and Senior Editor of macworld.com. She was also a reporter for Investor's Business Daily, covering telecom, mobile and e-commerce. Earlier Schmeiser was a personal finance blogger for the San Francisco Chronicle. Christopher Tozzi

Christopher Tozzi has covered the channel for The VAR Guy on a freelance basis since 2008, with an emphasis on open source, Linux, virtualization, SDN, containers, data storage and related topics. He also teaches history at a major university in Washington, D.C. He occasionally combines these interests by writing about the history of software. If you’re an IT practitioner, we welcome article submissions from you about how to strategically assess and/or tactically deploy technologies within your organization, especially when the submission highlights the business benefits of specific processes or policies. To be considered for publication, submissions must adhere to our editorial standards: The content must be exclusive to ITPro Today (cannot have been published elsewhere); it cannot market a vendor’s products or services; it must be relevant to a topic we cover on ITPro Today; and it must be written for our core audience of IT professionals. If we do accept the content for publication, we typically edit for style, clarity, grammar and length (500 to 800 words is ideal) and send it back to you for review if substantial edits are made. We expect that you will fact-check your submission before sending it to us for review. Unfortunately, we can’t pay for unsolicited contributions.
