In a strangely quiet move, Microsoft shipped the second service pack for Office 2003 Tuesday night. Unlike its predecessor, Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Office 2003 SP2 contains only bug fixes, security enhancements, and stability and performance improvements. Office 2003 SP1 was a major release that included a brand new version of OneNote.

"Some of the fixes included with Office 2003 SP2 have been previously released as separate updates," a note on Microsoft's Web site reads. "This service pack combines them into one update." Office 2003 SP2 also includes all of the features from Office 2003 SP1.

Microsoft has provided SP2 in several downloads, which affect different products. The main Office 2003 SP2 download includes the SP2 updates for Microsoft Excel, FrontPage Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Three other SP2 downloads are available for OneNote, Project, and Visio 2003, respectively. And a final download is also available for Windows SharePoint Services SP2.

Downloads:

Office 2003 SP2
OneNote 2003 SP2
Project 2003 SP2
Visio 2003 SP2
Windows SharePoint Services SP2
