To rename a registry key, you must use Regedit.exe:

1. Navigate to the key to be renamed and select it.

2. On the Edit menu, click Rename.

3. Type the name of the new key.

4. Press Enter.

To rename a registry key on a remote computer, use Regedit.exe:

1. On the Registry menu, click Connect Network Registry.

2. Enter the remote computers name.

3. Click OK.

4. Navigate to the key to be renamed and select it.

5. On the Edit menu, click Rename.

6. Type the name of the new key.

7. Press Enter.

8. On the Registry menu, click Disconnect Network Registry.

9. Click the name of the remote computer and click OK.
