BlackLight Joins the List of Rootkit Detection Tools

A new rootkit detection tool, BlackLight, will become available this week.

A new rootkit detection tool, BlackLight, will become available this week. The tool, developed by F-Secure, will be demonstrated for the public on March 10th at the upcoming CeBIT fair in Hannover, Germany. The company will also make a beta version available on that same date, which you can download from the company's BlackLight Web page . The beta will be have all features enabled and will work until April 30, 2005. F-Secure said it will incorporate BlackLight into all of its 2005 product releases.

BlackLight is one of several rootkit detection tools available for Windows platforms. Sysinternals recently released RootkitRevealer, which is a free tool available on the company's Web site.
