Synopsis: Malware writers continue to shift efforts to Instant Messaging (IM) as seen by the spread of the Stang variants, which infect systems through an attached .pif file that carries tags lines such as "Look At This Hot Naked Girl'. The worm performs a variety of destructive actions such as shutting down personal firewalls and antivirus software. The worms spread again by resending themselves to everyone in the victim's buddy list.
