Apple Sells 500 Millionth Song

Apple Computer announced over the weekend that it has surpassed the 500 million song barrier on its iTunes Music Store. "Music fans have purchased and downloaded more than half a billion songs from the iTunes Music Store," the company noted. Incidentally, the 500 millionth song sold was, disturbingly, Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl." The lucky buyer was Amy Greer from Lafayette, Indiana. As a reward for making the milestone purchase, Amy will receive 10 iPods to share with her family and friends, an iTunes gift card for 10,000 free songs, and an all-expenses-paid trip for four to see Coldplay on their world tour. Hopefully, the Coldplay concert will make Amy reconsider her musical tastes
