JSI Tip 6221. Encrypted files can NOT be compressed?

When you inspect the properties of an encrypted object, you notice that it is NOT compressed, even through the parent folder or volume is compressed?

When you try to compress an encrypted object, you are unable to do so?

This behavior is due to the fact that NTFS compression and file encryption are mutually exclusive.

You must decrypt an object before you can compress it.
