Why am I having problems sending appointments as iCalendar items ever since I upgraded to Microsoft Office XP (and Outlook 2002)?

The iCalendar standard (which Internet Engineering Task Force—IETF—Request for Comments—RFC—2445 defines) is a method for exchanging calendar information over the Internet. Both Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2000 support version 2.0. However, Outlook 2000 has a problem with the TRIGGER keyword used in iCalendar items to build a reminder. The solution is to avoid including reminders in iCalendar items that you send from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2000 users. For more information about this problem, see the Microsoft article "OL2000: Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2002 iCalendar Interoperability Problems" (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q307313).
