The cluster Timeserv service is used to synchronize time in the cluster, but does NOT provide for a real-time time source.

You can remove the clusters Timeserv service and replace it with the Resource Kit's Time Server or W32Time.

To replace the cluster Timeserv service:

1. Use the Cluster Administration tool to set the Time Service resource to offline.

2. Delete the Time Service resource.

3. Move the cluster group on the other node.

4. Delete the Timeserv key in the following registry key on both nodes:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServices

5. Install the optional time service and configure it's .ini file.
