How can I modify the registry to enable the option to show file extensions in Windows Explorer?

A. To enable the option to show known file extensions, perform these steps:

  1. Start the registry editor (regedit.exe).

  2. Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced registry subkey.

  3. Double-click HideFileExt and set it to 0 to show known file extensions or 1 to hide them.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Close the registry editor.
