Microsoft began shipping Proxy Server 2.0 Wednesday, the company announced. The latest version of Microsoft's firewall software will sell for almost $1000, and it features enhanced security, server proxying, virtual private networking (VPN) support, reverse proxying and Socks support. Though previous versions of Proxy Server were aimed squarely at small businesses only, Microsoft officials say the new version scales nicely for most users.
