Q. What's GodMode in Windows 7?

A. Windows 7 has a neat little interface that's hidden by default that exposes most of the common OS configurations. To access it, create a new empty folder and rename it

GodMode.\\{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C\\}

The folder will change into a shortcut named GodMode that, when accessed, exposes a huge number of settings. Essentially every control panel applet is exposed, with the content and major actions of the control panel applet shown.

Below, I've collapsed the settings other than Folder Options to try and show the sheer number, but I can't fit even half on the screen.

This is actually the first time I've got a FAQ from an item of clothing. Look what I got at the Microsoft store last time I was in Redmond. It's actually great, if ever I forget the GUID I can just check out my shirt.
