Microsoft Licenses SQL Farms Technology

According to a news release issued earlier today by investment bank DeParis Redinger LLC, Microsoft has purchased technology from SQL Farms LLC, a Herndon, VA-based developer of management tools and utilities for Microsoft SQL Server. DeParis Redinger advised SQL Farms on the sale of the IP assets to Microsoft, and terms of the arrangement were not revealed.

In a statement from the press release, SQL Farms CEO Ron Wright said that the "strategic sale \[of SQL Farms IP to Microsoft\] validates the strength of SQL Farms' product. We understand the needs of database administrators and look forward to helping them manage their increasingly complex data farms."

SQL Farms develops configuration management and deployment automation products for SQL Server. Their first product was SQL Farms Combine, an application that allows SQL Server admins to automate and batch SQL Server management tasks.
