As part of its Windows 8 revelations this week, Microsoft also said that its developer-oriented BUILD event will happen in September. This was previously expected to be called PDC 2011 and then WDC (“Windows Developer Conference”). Not sure what the name change is all about, but here’s what the company has to say about the event:
Registration is now open for Microsoft’s new developer conference, BUILD. The conference takes place September 13-16, 2011 in Anaheim, CA. BUILD is where the full spectrum of developers – from startups and entrepreneurs to those who work for the world’s biggest brands – will come together to get a deeper understanding of Microsoft’s product roadmap. In addition to providing the industry’s first deep dive on the next version of Windows, attendees can expect to see new capabilities for Windows Azure, Microsoft’s tools emphasis for HTML5 support, new development opportunities on Windows Phone and our commitment to interoperable environments.
