JSI Tip 7075. Your server's tape drive does NOT work properly with 3rd-party backup programs?

When you use a 3rd-party backup program on your server, scheduled jobs may not run successfully, and/or the 3rd-party program reconfigures your tape drive.

The above behaviors may occur if the tape drive is NOT a PnP (Plug and Play) device AND tape drive driver updates or other storage device configuration changes have be applied to your server.

To resolve this problem, make sure that any storage devices that you use are PnP devices.

NOTE: You must also be using the most current drivers, even if your device is NOT PnP.
