JSI Tip 4797. Event 4191, IP could not open the registry key for adapter TCPIP\Parameters\Adapters\NDISWANIP?

Your Windows 2000 System Event log contains:

Event: 4191
Source: TCP/IP
Description: IP could not open the registry key for adapter TCPIPParametersAdaptersNDISWANIP. Interfaces on this adapter will not be initialized.

You have missing and/or corrupted TCP/IP registry Keys/Values.

To correct the problem:

01. Right-click My Network Places and press Properties.

02. Right-click the entry that has the TCP/IP definition, normally your LAN, and press Properties.

03. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and press Uninstall.

04. Shutdown and restart your computer when prompted.

05. Verify that the Keys at tip 1127 have been removed.

06. Right-click My Network Places and press Properties.

07. Right-click the entry that had the TCP/IP definition, normally your LAN, and press Properties.

08. Press Install / Protocol / Add / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) / OK.

09. Configure your TCP/IP settings in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog and press OK.

10. Shutdown and restart your computer when prompted.
