Dart Communications Releases PowerWEB TextBox for ASP.NET 3.0
Dart Communications announced the latest release ofPowerWEB TextBox for ASP.NET. This product allows Microsoft ASP.NET developersto replace the standard TextArea of their Web application with support for HTMLcontent editing and traditional word processing capabilities without relying onany client-side components or controls.
Version 3.0 nowincorporates Dart s Ajax technologydeveloped for its PowerWEB LiveControls product. Like LiveControls, TextBoxenables software developers to build Web applications that don t require abrowser refresh. This helps eliminate the flicker and delays associated with abrowser postback, providing a smoother Windows-like feel for the user. There isno requirement for complex JavaScript or outside plug-in technologies such asJava applets or Flash. In addition, this upgrade of TextBox establishescompatibility with the .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005.
For developerscreating ASP.NET content-management applications, Web mail products, Webforums, or just wanting their users to have word processor-like control overHTML content, PowerWEB TextBox for ASP.NET allows instant replacement for thestandard TextBox control used in most Web applications. Just like a standardword processor or HTML editor, the developer has control over the look and feelof all items on the screen, and has the ability to create custom buttons, toolbar items, and Windows-like dialogs that encapsulate customized code. Alldata is visible in either WYSIWYG form or as HTML tags. For the end-user, allstandard HTML capability is available, including table editing, imagemanipulation, color pickers, and text formatting. If used in conjunction withPowerWEB LiveControls, PowerWEB TextBox provides such functionality asmanipulating application interface components within asynchronous callbacks tothe server.
Designed forbeginners and advanced users, the TextBox control supports zero-codecustomization, as virtually every aspect of the product can be customized usingits built-in Property Builder within Visual Studio.NET 2002, 2003, and 2005.All objects in the control can be manipulated to meet the project s interfacerequirements. This includes customization of the toolbars, buttons, dialogs, progressbar, tab strip, and more. The control also supports skins and configurationpersistence.
