Add a Photo to Your Garmin Fitness Device Watch Face

During my quest to determine which company manufactures the best fitness device, I’ve been particularly surprised and pleased with Garmin’s ecosystem. New apps and add-ons are developed and made available almost daily. There are literally thousands of apps, widgets, and data points to install, but there’s even more custom watch faces. I currently sport an analog watch that sports a second hand, date, and numbers of steps taken. There’s an endless supply and most of the watch faces are fully customizable.

However, one thing that has not been available for customization is the background for the watch face.

Today Garmin is rolling out a new app called Face-It. Face-It runs on your smartphone, allows you select a photo stored locally (cloud-based photos not supported) or take a photo, connect to your Garmin device, and then apply an analog or digital watch face that sports your selected photo.

As shown in the photo for this article, it works well and looks great.

Garmin Face-It supports iOS and Android and runs separately from the Garmin Connect app and currently supports the following devices: fēnix 3, fēnix 3 HR, vívoactive, vívoactive HR, Forerunner 230, Forerunner 235, Forerunner 630, Forerunner 735XT, Forerunner 920XT, D2 Bravo, D2 Bravo Titanium, epix, quatix 3 and tactix Bravo.
