If any of the following occurs after you use a COM port to connect your Bluetooth wireless device, you may receive a Not responding error in Windows XP:

The power to your Bluetooth device is lost, or you turned it off.

The COM port is disconnected.

The power to the USB radio is turned off, or lost.

The USB radio is disconnected.

This behavior is the result of the surprise removal of the device.

To regain functionality, let Windows close the surprise removal condition by leaving your computer untouched for between one and two minutes.
