Beginning in January 2008 people can earn their Masters degree in Computer Science through online courses at Hofstra University. The degree could help people climb further up the company ladder and increase their payrates.
Hofstra said that the program consists of 30 semester hours and that students could feasibly complete the class in 18 months without interrupting their daily schedules. Hofstra will deliver the classes via a secure Web-based application.
"The course of study is tailored to help students narrow down their area of specialization and develop expertise in that area," said Gerda Kamberova, Department Chair at Hofstra. "The degree is on the forefront of current computer science practice offering students practical cutting-edge knowledge through courses such as software project management, mobile device programming, network security, and concurrent and parallel computing."
