A company out of Finland, Eve-tech, has released their first Windows tablet because they were not happy with many of the big, bulky and cheap white plastic devices that are on the market.
The Eve T1 is the result of their efforts and we have one of the devices on hand all the way from Finland for a more in-depth review however, we wanted to start off by sharing some of the specs of the tablet, an unboxing video and a gallery of images of the device as we initially checked it out.
I was impressed with the feel and heft of the tablet when I first started using it as it weighs less than a pound, 14 ounces to be specific, and the back has a texture on it that is rough but not unpleasant which helps with grip. The touch screen is not overly glossy but it does have a coating on it that prevents it from picking up fingerprints and gives it some texture which can take some getting used to when using it. My fingers do not slide across the screen smoothly like they do on my Surface or the HP Stream 7.
According to Eve-tech the T1 retails for 159 Euros or about $170 dollars however, if you order it from them to the US then it ships without the VAT tax and costs approximately $130 instead.
As for the specs - this tablet packs some pretty decent chops - at least on paper.
