First Firmware Ready for Surface Book and Surface Pro 4, Fixes Bugs and Enables Windows Hello

If you’re one of those who decided to pre-order a Surface Book or Surface Pro 4, after you unbox and boot up, get ready to install the first patch.
Microsoft has now made available firmware and driver updates for both Surface devices. Richard Hay caught wind of the updates over on our sister site, Supersite, this weekend.
The updates will be available immediately on first boot through Windows Update, but Enterprise users will want to incorporate the new firmware and drivers in deployable images. Here’s the download locations for those:
Microsoft has yet to update its Surface history pages, but that’s expected shortly after the devices are officially released.
In addition to last minute bugs fixes, the new firmware and drivers bring full Windows Hello functionality to both devices. For companies hungry to implement the new Windows 10 biometric security features for either device, the update is required, as this feature doesn’t ship with the manufactured devices.
