Once you've installed the Desktop Experience feature pack and set the Themes service to Automatic, which was all you needed to do to get Windows Vista features with Server 2008, you still won't get features like Aero Peek or color hot-tracking. To get these features, you need to enable them via the System control panel applet. Select the Advanced tab and select Settings under the Performance section. Under the Visual Effects tab, shown here, you can then enable the features you want.
