Outlook Mail on Windows 10 Mobile now supports inbox pinning to Start Screen

One of the features I miss the most between Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile is the ability to pin individual email accounts to the Start Screen as Live Tiles to keep an eye on incoming email.

Since Outlook Mail arrived on Windows 10 Mobile that ability has been missing in action and while the new app has a combined inbox, which was also an option in the Windows Phone 8.1 Mail app, many people just like being able to pin their separate accounts to the Start Screen.

We were alerted by one of our readers, Cosmym, this morning that this ability has returned in a recent update to Outlook Mail in Windows 10 Mobile.

If you open up Outlook Mail on your Windows 10 Mobile device and tap the Hamburger Menu icon in the upper left corner you will get this screen:

Outlook Mail 1

Tap on the email account and that will lead to the All Accounts page:

Outlook Mail 2

On this screen all of your accounts will be listed. Just Tap, Hold and Release to get the pinning menu:

Outlook Mail 3

Tap Pin to Start to add that account to the Start Screen. Repeat the Tap, Hold and Release process for other accounts you want to pin to the Start Screen.

Unfortunately, these pinned account tiles do not appear to be Live Tiles but I suspect that will arrive eventually now that individual accounts can be pinned to the Start Screen.
