Microsoft Launches Bing App for iPad

As if we needed more evidence of Microsoft's better support for competing mobile platforms than for Windows Phone, the company today announces a new Bing mobile app ... for iPad.

Today, Bing released the Bing for iPad app, a new way to interact with Bing. Since launching, Bing has been focused on helping people stop searching and start deciding – regardless of where they are. The Bing for iPad app goes beyond the traditional search experience, offering a new visually rich way to search the Web. The experience is designed specifically to capture the fluid and intuitive nature of touch on a large, high resolution screen – allowing you to quickly browse news, movies, weather, local business listing and much more. And, you can do it all with the swipe of a finger – no more back button.

Bing for iPad includes the following interesting new features:

Custom Design: Everything you need to start your day is right at your fingertips. The app’s opening page provides a quick glance at everything you need to know: local weather, top news, maps, movies in theaters, top trends and stock market news.

Trends: Catch up on the latest popular news topics through pictures with the Trends icon on the homepage. Click on a picture and get the latest headlines. Everything from breaking news, gossip, fashion scoop, sports news, etc. is covered. Everything you need and want to know is in one convenient location – never go searching multiple news sites again.

Maps: Click the Map icon on the homepage to find your exact location and what’s near. Locate local top-rated businesses and get directions with one-touch.
