Hot plug ("hot plugging" or "hot adding") - Inserting a device into an empty slot. The operating system should recognize the change.
Hot swap ("hot swapping" or "hot switching") - Removing a device and replacing it with an identical device. The operating system should recognize the change.

When you hot plug an Intel 1000P PCI Express network adaptor into a Windows Server 2003 computer, you are prompted to restart your computer. Device Manger shows the second PCI-PCI bridge on the network adaptor with a yellow exclamation mark.

You can safely IGNORE this message. DO NOT restart your computer.

NOTE: The second PCI-PCI bridge is not used, so you can ignore the yellow exclamation mark. If desired, uninstall it:

            Open Device Manager (Devmgmt.msc).
            Right-click the second PCI-PCI bridge deivce and press Uninstall.
            Press Yes.
