JSI Tip 8905. When you attempt to access a mapped network drive from a Windows XP client, or Windows Server 2003 client, you receive 'The local device name is already in use'?

This behavior may occur if you logon to the client with a different connection type than the one you used to map the drive.

If you mapped the drive while connected via your LAN, and now you are logged onto the client computer via RAS, the logon credential used are different.

To workaround this issue, delete the existing mapping and create a new mapped drive.
