JSI Tip 8008. How can I turn on the local administrator account during a RIS installation on a remote computer in Windows Server 2003?

During a RIS (Remote Installation Services) installation on a remote computer, a setting in the Ristndrd.sif file turns of the local administrator account.

To turn on the local administrator account on the remote computer:

1. Open the \RemoteInstall\Setup\English\Images\RIS\I386\Templates\Ristndrd.sif file in Notepad.exe.

2. Delete the DisableAdminAccountOnDomainJoin = 1 line under the \[data\] section.

3. Save the \RemoteInstall\Setup\English\Images\RIS\I386\Templates\Ristndrd.sif file.

NOTE: See How to use Remote Installation Service to install Windows Server 2003 on remote computers.
