JSI Tip 7986. Your sub-menus display slowly in Windows Server 2003?

When you point to a menu, the sub-menu may take several seconds to display.

When you press Start and point to All Programs, it takes several seconds to display the sub-menu.

NOTE: When you right-click the desktop and point to New, you also experience the delay.

This behavior will occur if the data value of the MenuShowDelay Value Name is set to 0, because Windows Server 2003 does NOT support a MenuShowDelay data value of 0.

I recommend setting the MenuShowDelay data value to 100 milliseconds.

NOTE: The default data value for MenuShowDelay is 400 milliseconds, and the maximum data value allowed is 65536 milliseconds.
