JSI Tip 7600. FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions will NOT run on Windows Server 2003?

Since Windows Server 2003 includes FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions, and IIS 6.0, Microsoft does not support the use of earlier versions of FrontPage Server Extensions, as architectural changes in IIS 6.0 would cause the earlier versions to introduce instability.

To install FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions:

1. Open the Add or Remove Programs applet in Control Panel.

2. Press the Add/Remove Windows Components button.

3. Highlight Application Server, without checking the check box, and press Details.

4. Highlight Internet Information Services and press Details.

5. Check the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions box.

6. Press OK and OK.

7. Press Next and complete the Windows Components Wizard.

8. To open FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions, Double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) in Control Panel / Administrative Tools.
