JSI Tip 6924. When you install VMware GSX Server 1.0 or VMware GSX Server 2.0 on a Windows Server 2003, and connect to the VMware Management Interface by using your Web browser, you receive 'The page cannot be found'?

The message you receive is similar to:

The page cannot be found

HTTP Error 404

This error is due to the fact that IIS 6.0 is NOT configured to serve CGI pages.

To resolve this issue, you will have to configure IIS to permit all unknown CGI extensions, which poses a risk of infection:

1. Start / Administrative Tools / Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

2. Expand <ServerName>

3. Select Web Service Extensions.

4. In the right-hand pane, select All Unknown CGI Extensions and press Allow.

5. Press Yes when you are prompted to confirm your selection.
