JSI Tip 6630. When you attempt to preview a Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 file in Windows Server 2003's Internet Explorer, you receive 'Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page'?

If you install Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, create a file that contains a Macromedia Flash component, and try to preview it in Internet Explorer, you receive:

Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

If you don't have the Macromedia Flash Player installed, the new security in Windows Server 2003 prevents the prompt to install it.

To resolve this issue:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Use the Tools menu to open Internet Options.

3. Select the Security tab.

4. Select Trusted sites and press Sites.

5. Type http://download.macromedia.com into the Add this Web site to the zone box and press Add.

6. Press Close and OK.

7. Close all instances of Internet Explorer.

8. Preview your file.

9. When prompted to install Flash Player, press Yes.
