JSI Tip 10285. How do I install IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) on Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1?

Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1 both have IPv6 available, but not installed.

To install the IPv6 stack:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type netsh interface ipv6 install and press Enter.

If, in the future, you wanted to remove the IPv4 stack:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type netsh interface ipv4 uninstall and press Enter.

3. Shutdown and restart your computer.

NOTE: For Windows XP SP1, you can install the Advanced Networking Pack for Windows XP.
