Top Ten: New Features in Windows 8.1 Update 1

Microsoft seems to have heard the user complaints about Windows 8 loud and clear. With the new Windows 8.1 Update 1 release, Microsoft has made a number of important strides to make Windows 8.1 more palatable for regular desktop users with a keyboard and mouse. No, Microsoft hasn’t gotten rid of the formerly-known-as Metro interface, nor have they brought back the Start Menu, but Microsoft has made a lot of changes that will make desktop users happier. (There are rumors that Microsoft will bring back the Start Menu in Update 2.) Here’s a tour of the Top Ten new features in Windows 8.1 Update 1.
