Sega sells 500,000 CE-based Dreamcast machines

Sega Enterprises announced Monday that it sold over 500,000 Windows CE-based Dreamcast units in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore as of the end of December. Dreamcast is a new 128-bit video game console that will go on sale in the United States and Europe this Fall. It was launched in the Far East in late November, making this sales figure all the more staggering.

Since the Dreamcast is based on Windows CE, we can assume that it is instantly the best-selling Windows CE device ever created. Expect big things from the Dreamcast when it enters the U.S. market
