Q: Where are the KMS keys for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012?

Q: Where are the KMS keys for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012?

A: To enable Key Management Service (KMS) or use Active Directory Based Activation (ADBA), a special key is used that tells the OS to use the organization's KMS or ADBA to activate, instead of the Microsoft online clearing service. Keys for Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 have now been published at the Microsoft website. The simplest way to change the key is to use the slmgr.vbs script and run this command:

slmgr.vbs /ipk <the KMS product key>

Another option is to open the graphical dialog box to allow a product key to be entered. To do so, run this command:

slui 3
