Microsoft Corporation has confirmed a bug in Word 97 that can cause the program to crash when a user drags a Word document to a printer icon while the document is open. Performing this procedure causing any changes made to the document to not be saved and the file cannot be printed. The bug also affects Word for Windows 95.
"It's not something that would happen unless you leave Word running and go do this in the operating system. I'm not sure why anyone would want to do this when you can print in one step from within the document, " said Matt Price, group product manager for Microsoft Office. Price says Microsoft has received only a few complaints from customers.
