Netscape posts new tools

Netscape Communications has posted an update for their Communicator suite along with a new version of their JavaScript development tool.

The Communicator update adds support for the Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.1 so that users can take advantage of Java applets written with the JavaBeans component model. You can download the update from Netscape's developer site.

Netscape has also posted a new beta release of its Visual JavaScript programming tool. Visual JavaScript is written entirely in Java, and it lets you visually combine Java applets and JavaScript scripting code. It will retail for $495 when it is completed later this year.
