Microsoft reportedly developing search engine

Reportedly, Microsoft is working on a Internet search engine code-named "Yukon" that will compete with Yahoo!, Alta Visa, Excite, and other similar services. Microsoft is expected to have a beta version of the search engine available in October with a final release due in January. The search engine is expected to be launched on the Internet, rather than on the Microsoft Network, according to Time Magazine, which apparently doesn't realize that MSN *is* on the Internet
