Microsoft releases Virtual Private Networking for Windows 95

Microsoft has released the final version of Virtual Private Networking (VPN) for Windows 95, a new add-on for Dial-up Networking/Windows RAS networking that allows users to securely connect to LANs over the Internet. VPN uses the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), a recent networking technology to give this ability to Windows 95 users. Windows NT users have had this capability since last year when NT 4.0 was released.

The VPN download upgrades your Dial-up Networking components to version 1.2. You can find out more information and download the upgrade at the VPN homepage
