Microsoft preaches the word of Windows

Frank Artale, the director of Windows NT program management at Microsoft, took the stage Wednesday at the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) and preached the word of Windows.

"Stick to the Windows interface, don't go around it, and it will take care of you," he said.

Oddly, Artale stepped aside from the NT 5.0 rhetoric and pushed Windows 98 on developers, reminding them that the "Approved for Windows 98" logo should probably be on every developer's agenda for at least the next year.

He also extolled the virtues of the new Windows Installer application, which is expected to end version conflicts
