Microsoft posts new Email patches

Thanks to Richard Hay for the tip: Microsoft has quietly posted updated security patches for Outlook 98 and Outlook Express to address the long file-name attachment" bug that become known in late July. The company originally posted patches that were later removed because they didn't address the entire problem.

Generally, I don't recommend the wholesale downloading of every bug-fix or update that comes along, but I think every Outlook 98/OE user needs to at least take a look at these fixes. You can download the patches from the following locations:

  • Outlook Express
  • Outlook 98
