Microsoft to post fix for Windows NT security bug

Microsoft has promised to post a fix for the so-called "redbutton" bug to their Web site. This bug lets users access Windows NT networks without entering a valid username or password. Windows NT usually offers access to a user group known as "Everyone" and depending on the way NT is setup, members of the Everyone group can access files, create shared drives, and run executable programs. The fix will limit the rights of the Everyone group. The redbutton bug was originally discovered by an NT network consultant in Columbus, Ohio
