Microsoft Corporation will released an "updated PDC version" of Windows NT 5.0 Beta 2 at its October Programmer's Developer Conference (PDC) in Denver. Though Microsoft will release a "beta 2" of NT 5.0 by late summer, the PDC build will be an updated version with better functionality. A year earlier, in September 1997, Microsoft released Beta 1 of Windows NT 5.0, which was clearly rushed to meet the date of the target. Testers didn't get a usable build of Windows NT 5.0 until...well, actually, they still haven't gotten a usable build if reports are to be believed. Microsoft has shipped two interim builds since last September, however.
The October PDC will also feature the Microsoft DNA (Distributed InterNet Architecture), a new COM-based way to deliver Windows applications over a network
