Microsoft to invest $1B in US West?

According to Wednesday's New York Times, Microsoft is close to an agreement that has it investing up to $1 billion in the cable TV operations of US West. The investment would give Microsoft about 6% of US West's cable business. Microsoft hopes to close the deal before December. In June, the Redmond company made a similar deal with Comcast, another cable company
