California-based Untangle, formerly Metavize, recently announced the company's change of name and launched a new strategy for marketing its products. The company now offers its unified threat management solution free of charge to companies with 10 or fewer employees.
The unified solution includes protection against spam, identity theft, spyware, viruses, and Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. The solution also includes protocol and Web controls to block unwanted content, an intrusion prevention system (IPS) and firewall, as well as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)-based VPN, routing capabilities for Network Address Translation (NAT)-based networks, and a reporting interface that gives a high-level overview of network activity.
Untangle offers its solutions to larger companies for $75 per month for companies with 11-30 users and $195 per month for companies with more than 30 users.
