Massachusetts may join Texas probe of Microsoft

The Massachusetts attorney general's office confirmed today that it has been contacted by the state of Texas about joining a legal investigation of Microsoft. "We are considering it," says a spokesperson.

Several other states have also expressed an interest in joining the probe, which is investigating Microsoft's business practices with regards to the Internet. Texas officials are concerned that Microsoft's near-monopoly in the operating system business gives them an unfair advantage in other areas
