Just what we need, another Microsoft OS

Another year, another new operating system from the folks up in Redmond. Maybe I'm being a little sarcastic here, but Microsoft seems to be going out of its way to get its nose into every business under the sun these days. This time around, it's smart cards, those computer-on-a-credit-card wonders that have hit it off big in Europe, though they've yet to take off in the States. Microsoft officials confirmed that they will officially unveil this totally new OS--which will somehow be tied to Windows--tomorrow at the Cartes98 smart card tradeshow in Paris. Stay tuned
