JSI Tip 0817. LMHOSTS in SP4 supports multiple domain controller entries.

In tip 463 we described the LMHOSTS entry required to get a specific domain controller to validate your logon. In tip 790, we described how to specify a prefered domain controller order.

Starting with SP4, you can use multiple domain controller entries in the LMHOSTS file using the following format:

IP_Address <Server Name> #PRE #DOM:<Domain Name>

Example:

192.168.1.10 JSI001 #PRE #DOM:JSI
192.168.1.20 JSI002 #PRE #DOM:JSI

In the above example, a client would try to logon to JSI001 first, and if not succesfull, to JSI002.
